Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Mr. Freebern served as the Tax Director of Lehman Brothers’ private equity business where he oversaw tax matters for all its divisions: fund of funds, credit products, merchant banking, real estate, venture capital, and communications. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Freebern was a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s real estate funds tax practice.

Mr. Flowers has spent more than 40 years focused on financial services, both as an advisor and as an investor. He worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1979 to 1998. At the time of his departure, he was Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Flowers founded J.C. Flowers & Co. in 1998.
Mr. Flowers, through the Anne and Chris Flowers Foundation and personally, supports many charitable causes. These include anti-malaria efforts in Africa, and Circles of Support, which works with ex-prisoners in New York State. Mr. Flowers serves on the Committee for University Resources at Harvard University and as a trustee of the Kasparov Chess Foundation.
